His big break came after he defeated Trevor Berbick (1986), Pinklon Thomas, Tyrell Biggs and Tony Tucker (1987), Michael Spinks and Larry Holmes (1988), Frank Bruno (1989), Henry Tillman (1990) and Lou Savarese (2000), before then having his first loss by a devastating KO to James "Buster" Douglas in Tokyo Dome, Tokyo, Japan, in February 11, 1990, which went on to become one of the greatest upset in the history of boxing.

Holyfield 57 on the other hand as always been a tougher opponent for Mike Tyson, defeating Mike twice on two occasions, first by a vicious TKO in 1996, and their rematch where Tyson lost by disqualification for biting Holyfield's ears during the match.

When asked if there could be a charity match, Holyfield replied "I don't know, you would have to ask him! I wouldn't ask nobody to do anything they don't want to do, but it's for charity, if we can work something out that works for everybody, then it's a win-win-win."
